LEARN OUT LOUD

The eternal students that teaches.

Learn by Teaching: Leadership That Grows Out Loud

I love to teach. I also love to learn. Sometimes I read so much about a topic that I need to share it, explain it, and talk about it. When I learn by teaching, leadership becomes clearer, kinder, and more real.

“If you want to master something, teach it.” — Richard Feynman

People Who Spark Ideas

When I share and teach what I know, gaps appear and my ideas get somehow organized. The best part, however, are my students:

  • Those who raise a hand and ask questions that open new paths.

  • The ones who toss ideas in the air with objections that sharpen our judgment.

  • Others make me rethink what I just said—or how I said it—when silence invites clarity.
Yes, my hands even sweat. That little vertigo makes me better.

Vulnerability That Builds Trust

Leaders are expected to know everything. Answers don’t always show up; sometimes what was prepared just doesn’t land like you thought it would. Saying “I don’t know” can be an act of courage, honesty and vulnerability. With that openness, real trust is built and error becomes raw material. Doubt is welcomed, honesty is valued, and perfection is no longer demanded—(neither from me nor from the group). Trust grows stronger (see courageous leadership and Brené Brown).

Simple Habits to Lead While You Teach

  • Explain out loud what you’re learning; the Feynman Technique and active learning reveal gaps.

  • Invite hard questions: “What wasn’t clear?”, “What do you need to apply this?” or “How can I help you?”

  • Document on one page: what, why, and how.

  • Be honest when you don’t know: “I’ll research this and come back with a proposal.”

  • End every session with a specific next step.

In Short

To lead is to talk, to make mistakes, and to get it right with others. Leadership also grows when we learn by teaching—in every conversation, mistake, and success. Not from perfection, but from authenticity.
